Homage to Joe Pesci

"go home and get your fuckin' shine box!" I can't be reasonably expected to pick my favourite Joe Pesci scene from The Goodfellas but this one is definitely one of those golden film moments that will always stick in my head.
Classic scene. Love it when you see the car drive by in reflection off De Niro's shades. Badass
These two had a lot of great scenes together.

How to Make it in America

This show definitely looks interesting. Kinda like a ghetto Entourage for hipsters. Definitely right up my alley. And yeah, that's Kid Cudi you see. Ever since Day n Night this guy hasn't stopped working. I love seeing young talent progressing up the ladder so quickly, really inspires me to keep going hard at what I do. Premieres Sunday night on HBO 10pm Eastern time.

Drizzy Sprite Commerical

Cause thats always what happens when you drink Sprite. Honestly, I think the creative direction was a bit off for this one. I was kinda creeped out actually.

Courtroom Sketches

Gotti

In another installment of the randomness I find while browsing the interwebs here are a few high-profile courtroom sketches from years past. I always liked how courtroom sketch artists equipped with so little and under strict time constraints somehow manage to capture the essence of the mood and emotion that fills those tense courtroom scenes. Look at Woody Allen's face! You can tell he's thinking "ooooh boy, this is not good Woody, not good at all." like he's playing one of his mumbling, crippled with anxiety characters only this time it's real life.

The Writing on the Wall

Ever since my adolescence, 16 years old I'd say, when me and my boy Breeze would hop on the Exhibition Streetcar from Union to get to work I would always be looking out the window fascinated by the writing on the wall. It amazed me that there were actually people who would brave the risk of getting caught and armed only with their cans of paint and creative minds wandered in the shadows of the night looking for places to display their art. The thought just seemed so badass, it being a criminal act, yet it was still art and for that reason something I could entirely appreciate. Having tried my hand at the forbidden art form myself as a youth graffiti has truly become a part of the creative lens through which I view my city and the world. Toronto has some dope writers. I'll be posting some little mini-feature on artists I like soon but for now heres a few sick pieces from around the city.

Amusing

Drake at the Grammy's

As a fellow Torontonian it perhaps goes without saying that I am partial towards Toronto artists but I honestly believe that if you missed the Grammy's this was the only performance worth seeing. Taylor Swift had a nauseating performance with Stevie Nicks which gave me a sense of what caused Kanye to step on stage during Swift's VMA acceptance speech in a drunken furor. She straight up can't sing and while pop music has been notorious for manufacturing formulaic teen icons in the past (lest we forget the Backstreet Boys) it seems that even they had something in the way of vocal chops. I revoke my initial disgust with Kanye's interruption at the VMA's, I mean the man truly loves music and probably realized a long time ago what I am only realizing now. As for Drizzy, the dude has truly come a long way since the wheelchair guy from Degrassi. I will say as a honest fan of his work he is straying a bit from the rawness I knew him for on Comeback Season but it is perhaps just a natural progression as he caters to larger markets and faces the time constraints that come with being successful. This performance killed it though, my favourite part is when they cut to Jamie Foxx mouting the lyrics to Forever off beat. That shit looked like a bad Japanese movie.

WU-TANG!

The Chinese community knows just like the rest of the world: Wu-Tang Clan ain't nothing to fuck with!

Art of Noise

This song has been sampled 1000 times by hip-hop producers but in my opinion nothing compares to the 80's original.
